Fossils - John Marley was born at Middridge Grange in 1823. He made the commercial discovery of Cleveland ironstone which led to the industrial growth of Middlesbrough.
Headstock – two coal mines, Charles Pit and Eden Pit were collectively known as Middridge Colliery
Horse - Byerley Turk (1680 – 1706) – a stallion owned by Robert Byerley of Middridge Grange was one of the three founding stallions of todays thoroughbred horses.
