Asparagus has been grown in the area since the 1800's, sand dunes were leveled to make flat fields the sand soil is ideal for growing asparagus which is still farmed in the area. The last horse Jimmy worked until the 1990's. the seat carved from a tree trunk shows the horse waiting patiently while a man cuts the asparagus ready to load onto the cart
