The Point by orangecrush

The Point

Once there was a dream of luxury homes on a hill. This enormous fountain was built at the entrance. That was a long time ago and the plans started and stopped with the entrance!

I took this shot standing inside this dried up and rundown fountain that looks like it could have been in front of a luxury hotel in Vegas! I've gotta come back to this place when I have more time! On the hill are four or five construction trailers that have been just left there to fall apart and collect graffiti! :)

I want to thank you who participated in the "Give me direction" challenge! I found lots of inspiration and it was great posting everyday again! Posting everyday reminded me of how hard it is to keep up with commenting but it was worth the joy of pulling my camera out every day! So to keep the inspiration flowing, I'm going to start up the ONS7! I can't wait! :)
Lovely shot. Can't wait to see your ONS7. Hopefully I can participate!

Woohoo - I am up for ONS7 (hope that doesn't sound rude). Great shot and so sad that this development didn't get off the ground.

Wow, this is so dramatic! I love it.

Are those stone pineapples? Abandoned places look eerie and with your editing even more so.
ONS challenges are the best Jerry!

great textures and processing, sounds an amazing place - and yes, I'm permanently behind commenting and it reminds me why I didn't stay after the first year. But getting my camera out every day forces me to try things I wouldn't always try

Looks like a really interesting place, can't wait to see more images from round about. Quite surreal with such a fancy fountain and nothing else!

It looks like it was off to a grand start...strange the project was abandoned so abruptly! Oh well, you came along and breathed some life back into it with your picture. Perfect candidate for b/w!

OMG I saw this fountain today when I was driving to Otay Lake. I wondered what the heck this giant old empty fountain was doing on the corner.

@joysfocus Oh wow! They had big plans and then ran out of money, I would guess!
