I've been working on creating a bacon infused bourbon (I know, it sounds crazy!) and I finally finished my first batch! This is a shot of my first shot! :o) Yummy! And of course it comes complete with one giant size ice cube!
Here is the receipt if you want to get crazy with me!
Add a few ounces of warm, rendered bacon fat to a clean storage container.
pour in a bottle of bourbon, give it a stir, cover, let sit for about four hours, then put it in the freezer.
Allow the fat at least two hours to solidify, scoop it off with a spoon and strain the infused liquor through a cheesecloth or a coffee filter. Mmmmmm!
I added a touch of maple syrup to this glass...did I say yum?
It is one of those things that surely sounds quite bad, but in reality it is probably good. I guess you just need to get past the visual and mental roadblock
