My latest musical project to learn to play the Cajon. A friend of mine and I are booked in for our first lesson, the tutor thinks it will be fun teaching two mature students-little does he know. The cajon originates from slave musicians in Spanish colonial Americas, it is has either come from Peruvian slaves who used cargo crates or small dresser drawers to play on or that slaves used boxes as musical instruments to subvert the Spanish colonial ban on music. Either way it will be a brand new challenge for me and the tutor. Cant wait!!!
Oh, this is one of those you sit on to play, I think? I'm an old folkie and get to see them from time to time; they sound great and look like fun to play.
