Sloe berries-I think

Amazed by the number of these berries which I think are sloe berries. From what I could find you should wait for the first frost then pick them ready for slow gin.

Definitely sloes. Not quite ready - another 3 weeks. However if you wait for the frost they may all be gone!

Last time I had slow gin it ended in disaster....! Good to see them in their natural form though!

Lovely shot. Oh yes. They are Sloes all right. Sloe gin - gorgeous (just don't make it as sweet as the books suggest)

We have a number of these trees in our garden but never do anything with the fruits, of which there seem to be many this year. In fact they end up dropping on the lawn and being eaten up by the lawn mower which makes a great mess!!

What a wonderful dusty blue/black colour... lovely shot. We see the wrinklies going around with buckets collecting these.. now we know why they smile so much :)
