Morven Park Tree Guard by padlock

Morven Park Tree Guard

Four hours and three tree guards later, one task completed. This is a young hornbeam tree planted last week and needed to be protected from the cows that are going to be put on the pasture at the end of the month. So the job for the morning was putting three of these guards up, holes had to be dug, guard comes in two parts so they both had to be carried to the trees, then aligned and bolted together. Talk about cream crackered but great feeling of satisfaction.
Boo
good job!

Great job - so rewarding!

This is the biggest tree protector I've ever seen. Course, we don't have cows wandering our yards, gardens, or parks.

You got the guard nice and straight (even though the tree's on the pi...).
I've done a bit of re-arranging in the diary, looks like I can now make the 29th - my favourite lens is in the repair shop so I hope I get it back in time

@pistonbroke good for the 29th. Yes the tree was planted by the pro's whilst the guard was put up by Bodgit and Leggit Volunteers Ltd!! I rest my case.

Nice shot, and fascinating to get an insight into the conservation work you are involved with.
