A great day wandering along canal bank and river. I spotted this female Kingfisher shaking her head and opening her beak as wide as possible. Before a Kingfisher can feed it has to empty its gut of the debris from previous fish etc and this is what she has done. You can see the mucus on the end of her beak and the pellet falling to the ground. Probably a bit to much detail but there is mucus flying to the right of her. Could have made the shutter speed a bit quicker but sometimes with nature photography it is a case of point, press and hope!!
