A friend gifted me this orb a couple years ago. I have never used it. I was thinking it would be fun to use it for the one subject April challenge. I did learn a lot the first time out with this thing. The first is don't forget to put tick spray on when you are going to be crawling around on the ground. I thought it was to cold for them to be out, but apparently not since one had quite a feast on the side of my head before I found it in the evening. So gross!! I think the waterfall was not big enough, and didn't fill enough of the orb. The sky was grey, and it was sprinkling on, and off. I think it made the photo look drab. I will need to do some reading on how to edit inside that little ball. It is very tricky! I should have threw the orb down the creek, and just photographed the waterfall up close with that lovely green moss. I will give it another go, and hope that it stays in one piece until the end of April. Any tips or suggestions are greatly appreciated.
I like the clarity in the orb and I am quite eager to see how you evolve over this month. When it seems hard, it's in fact your brain growing.
Take care with those bugs.
I love this scene - it's beautiful. Your eye focuses quickly on the clarity within the lensball, but I like the softness behind it, too. When Nancie moved it, I gave up my computer room and all my things stored there - still haven't found my ball :(
This should be a great project to help you become a master with the orb. I love this shot. I think the image in the orb is super clear and has good detail and shows more of the trees than we can see in the background.
