You are a magician. I am so glad I joined this group, I am honestly inspired everyday by people like yourself and so many others to want to learn more so much more.
Lovely image, highly creative and abstract! The yellow stripe gives a sense of downward movement and if it was mine I would call this image 'gravity' or 'gravitational pull'! Excellent work!
@careymartin Thank you, Carey. The only motion is the light. I placed the glass ball on a piece of glass. Black paper background, and black paper under the glass. I used a small ring light I bought on the clearance rack at a local hobby shop. Camera on a tripod, and in a dark room. I used a long exposure, and just moved the light around. Oh I taped a couple pieces of yellow filter to the light. Wish I had more then 2 pieces. This is really easy to do. The kids would love it! It is fun to come up with ideas on how to light paint the ball. I have used finger lights, Christmas lights wrapped around a wooden spoon, fiber optic lights. So many different lighting ideas ha ha.
@bluemoon Thank you, Paula. It really is quite simple, and you do not need any fancy equipment. In the last comment I explained how I took it. I do not think a book is in my future. My grammar is horrible ha ha.
@catangus Thank you, Catriona. It is pretty easy. Here is a great tutorial. I set it up just like in the video except I do not do mirror lock up, and I use a tiny piece of putty to hold the ball.
@pamalama Aha, this makes sense now! Thank you for the detailed explanation. They kids LOVE doing light painting shots, especially when I break out the Ice Lights and let them use them as light sabers. Your result is amazing!
@pamalama thank you so much for the link have watch and when I have some spare time definitely going to have a try. Just need to experiment and see if I can use my iPhone or bridge camera!!! Or else win the lottery and get a proper camera 🤪
