Memory Quilt by pamelaf

Memory Quilt

I just came across this quilt, which my mother-in-law, Doris Evelyn Shields, made into a skirt for me in the early seventies. The original quilt had been made by her mother, Jessie Emma May Smith, who was born in 1872, in Red Wing, Minnesota.
Wow!! Talk about family keepsakes and traditions!!

What a beautiful heirloom. I love quilts, especially the old-fashioned, hand-pieced and hand-quilted ones. :-)
