Outside the Visitors' Centre in Sechelt, BC, Canada. A map that helps to understand why it is called the Land Between Two Waters. A very narrow isthmus separates the Salish Sea (Strait of Georgia) from Sechelt Inlet. Both bodies of water are salt water; it would take less than 15 minutes to walk between the two. However, in a boat, it would take hours, as you have to go a long way north before the two waters meet!
