Roots by pandorasecho

Roots

My husband standing in front of the roots of a blown down redwood. He is quite a ways in front of it, with a smaller log crosswise between the base of the redwood and him. Redwood roots go wide rather than deep and when they fall, new trees grow from the fallen giant as its burls sprout and the fallen redwood becomes a "Nurse Log"

Today is the first day back to school after winter break. I'm going to miss the free time to explore our local area as much as anything else. Teaching gets you long vacations but when school is in session it is no 8 hour a day/ 40 hour a week job. Breathe, then take off running.
These are so awesome! I'll never tire of these redwood pictures, you could do a book!

Wow! That's huge! What a great place to explore. You are so right about teaching. People think it's easy because I am "off" at 2:30. But I think it's more my 10:30! haha! There's just no rest. I hope you have a good day back to work. I start tomorrow.

Cool shot! Enjoyed the explanation! Good luck at school. My sister is a teacher and was doing lots of work over the break. I think teachers never get much of a break. Always something to do.
