Gone in a flash

The Christmas tree ignited and was nothing but ash within less than 4 minutes. This is enough to completely understand that it is not something you ever have a chance of stopping if it starts in your living room. Still, I love a tree, from the first breath of fresh pine until it goes up in a rush of heat and glory at the end.
WHOA! They are dangerous things when they get dry!

Yikes! I knew that they got dry . . but this almost seems explosive. Yes, I can see the danger if one isn't careful. Great capture.

Thanks for sharing, this is a great lesson. I love the live ones as well -- going to the lot to find the perfect tree, getting it home, smelling the pine, the decorating. I'll definitely keep this in mind in the future though. Great shot!

Yikes! That's really scary to think about. But I'm like you, I love the smell, look, and feel of a real tree. Live on the edge, I guess.

Ours is back by the burn pile waiting for it to dry out enough to burn. Now that it's raining and snowing, that won't be happening all too soon! Good shot.
