My water buffalo have gone wallowing in the silk kimono, in front of the 1987 calendar I got when I was a student there. This includes and ancient selfie because the button on the bottom of the calendar is my husband and I in the imperial gardens in Xiamen. I had to include the Happiest Buddha
You've got to have great memories from living over there, Dixie. You certainly have collected some great treasures! What made you go over there for school? Just a place of the world that you wanted to explore?! Love this photo . . great color. And wonderful composition.
My husband toured Japan, China abd the Philippines in a whirlwind week in 1983 with a junior college singing group and I was terribly jealous
Then in 1986 we saw a poster advertising an exchange of education students with Oregon Universities and Beijing teachers college, well not an exchange because it was only one way, twelve of Oregon's students ended up studying Chinese education, Chinese language (mandarin) Chinese history and Tai Chi and living in the Dorm and traveling around by train, boat and bus
@denezi When were you there? It was so long ago for me that it has really change a lot. We came back before the Tian an men square massacre, and all my memories of that square are beautiful fireworks and topiary displays of pagodas and the great wall on National day, and children singing.
@pandorasecho I was there October 2010, but only for a week on a business trip. I ate white rice for 4 days, and we had to walk everywhere! I swore they secretly sent me to a fat camp! haha
