Heart Mountain by pandorasecho

Heart Mountain

Heart Mountain, North of Cody Wyoming, where I grew up is visible from a log ways away and has different appearances from our (the Cody) side than from their (the High School Rivals, Powell Wyoming's) side.

It is upside down, meaning the newest rock is on the bottom. How does that happen? When Glaciers slide across the earth like giant bulldozers and scrape and pile things in front of them as they go.

Sadly Heart Mountain is associated with a dark time in our countries history too. 1/2 way between Cody and Powell was the Heart Mountain Relocation Camp where a village of tarpaper shacks was made to house the dislocated and potentially traitorous Japanese Americans during WWII. George Takai (Sulu) just starred in a play about Heart Mountain, or rathe a musical, in San Diego, the name of the musical is that which was being questioned for no reason but ancestry and skin color and eye shape, "Allegiance"

I love Heart Mountain, and when I was growing up there was an ongoing debate if it was Heart, like the organ, or HART like a deer?

and so ends my same-setting for October Column.

HAPPY Halloween and looking forward to the thankful4 challenge starting tomorrow
