When we bought this old house every room was carpeted but the carpeting was matted and muddy and when I pulled it out I was surprised to find this old painted linoleum floor, one solid piece designed to look like a wooden floor with an oriental rug.
Good perspective! I would be tempted to keep the part with the painted oriental rug. Old houses always give us surprises and lots of decisions to make when remodeling.
