Foggy or sunshine, this is the gate between my sons two homes in college and with us
I love the following quotes
"To this Gate I give the name of 'Chrysopylae,' or Golden Gate, for the same reason that the harbor of Byzantium was called 'Chrysoceras,' or Golden Horn." - Capt. John C. Fremont, 1846
"In the interest of your own uniqueness, dear San Francisco, do not bridge the Golden Gate." - Katherine Fullerton Gerould, Harper's magazine, 1924
"[A] perpetual monument that will make this city's name ring around the world and renew the magical fame which the Golden Gate enjoyed in the days of '49." - S.F. Examiner editorial, March 24, 1925
"This bridge needs neither praise, eulogy nor encomium. It speaks for itself. We who have labored long are grateful. What Nature rent asunder long ago, man has joined today." - J. Strauss on Opening Day, 1937
Lovely capture. Since I don't like driving across bridges, I think not being able to see the other side of the bridge would freak me out a little. Definitely foggy!
