edible fuchsia berries by pandorasecho

edible fuchsia berries

I never knew that all fuchsia berries are edible, the flower too. Most people don't seem to know this but they have a mildly sweet flavor and can add to salads or jam or pie if you grow enough. When a friend told me, I thought I'd love to try an then realized that they are all around me right now. These growing at the grade school where even the students do't know they can be gobbled, but google shows a lot of pictures and recipes
What a nice close-up. And nature has just washed them and made them look like the perfect, clean treat! :) I've heard of people also freezing flowers and petals, as well as berries, in ice, and then using them as ice cubes, too!

@maggiemae yep really true and I am surviving having eaten a handful of the berries on Wednesday. I think they are mild enough maybe no one will ever crave them but not bad.
