Adoption is a wonderful way to add to a family, and Greg and I both already had adopted members in our family which made choosing to adopt very easy. There is always a bit of sadness too, because the gain for one family comes at the sadness of another. But our family got the best of both worlds. Austin was 14 hours old when we first held him, and on November 16, 1993 the Judge decided he was thriving in our care and signed the papers making it official, but we were a family long before the judge decided, and we were lucky enough to have an open adoption so our son could know he was loved by both of his families. Love you always, and all ways Austin Goode Happy 21st Adoption Day
What a photo so full of memories. Melody went through the adoption process and were very close to receiving a child when the mother changed her mind just days before giving birth
@bkbinthecity we had a couple near placements that fell through first and we were actually looking at older or sibling groups or handicapped and then this just happened
My cousin should probably be the poster Mom for adoption. After having 6 children of her own, she has adopted 6 more, most with some sort of special need. I think both you and she are awesome!
