To support the Pancreatic Cancer Awareness month I played with the colors on Photoshop.
Except that, it's a sooc picture, did you know we have 3 statues of Liberty in Paris?
Living between Paris and the countryside, love taking pictures, a lot of pictures...
Publish different ones from this project on my blog.

I'm Canadian and when I immigrated the first thing I saw was the Statue of Libertyfrom abaord ship. nice picture..what is the flowering tree behind it or did you change the color to make it look purple. looks great
I had no idea there were 3 statues of liberty in Paris. I think I learn something new everyday on 365! This is a fun photo! And thank you for your kind comments on my pics.
I knew about the one @seattle mentioned... and I think I remember three mentioned in National Treasure ... or maybe the sequel ... but I don't know where the other two are. Great picture!
Looking for information to answer all you questions – thank you for all your nice comments and interest about Paris - I discovered a 4th one I’ve forgot!
-The one pictured is in the Luxembourg garden (about 15 feet tall) offered by Bartholdi, the designer in 1900
-There‘s one in the 15th arrondissement at the Pont de Grenelle, on the Swan island. It was offered to Paris by the American community of Paris to commemorate the centenary of the French revolution. It faces United States. There’s a post on my blog here http://tinyurl.com/365yjty
- The Musée des Arts et métiers has the 1/16th model used for the construction of the one in NYC (did you know Eiffel designed the structure?) and was given by Frederic Bartholdi’s widow.
- At the Pont de l’Alma the replica of the torch given by the International Herald Tribune in 1937 to celebrate the 100th anniversary of the newspaper, next time I’ll go there, I’ll post a picture on 365!
Glad I came in late so I could not only enjoy your lovely purple picture but also read your comment on the location of the 4 statues. I will have to share this with my kidergarten students who study "symbols of our country" (whicjh includes the statue of liberty) and later in the year they study Paris. What fun to be able to tie together the Eiffel tower and Miss Liberty because of M. Eiffel's role in both.
@icywarm That's so funny "saw it in Ghostbusters"; movies can teach us a lot, and you are and Ghostbusters are correct, as the SOL is a gift from France.
I like what you did! I also didn't know there were so many different statues of liberty in Paris! And I actually lived there! I only knew about the one on the island and about the torch at Pont D'Alma (I lived fairly close to it and used to walk past it almost every day - it always amazed me how there were ALWAYS flowers there even years after Princess Diana died.)
I love this! I figured the French must have a ton of liberty statues around, given the one in NY was given to the US by France (or so I heard at least). Gorgeous contribution to the theme!
