As in other countries, November 11th is a holiday in France. In all (or almost, I imagine) the towns and villages we commemorate the armistice of 1918 by laying flowers at the monument to fallen soldiers. Veterans, mayor and firefighters carry flags in a small village.
Our house is in the department of Aisne, an area particularly affected by the war, near the Chemin des Dames and taxis of the Marne. There are many military cemeteries, memorials to the American, English, German soldiers... I will probably share some pictures with you one day...
We left Thursday morning for 4 days at the countryside, and I had few minutes to upload an old photo to complete my calendar on Wednesday. I did not have time to thank you for all your wonderful comments about the picture of the Louvre. I've read all of them with great interest as every day...
That night, I was waiting for the bus and just had my point & shot as always with me, and... voila! You have confirmed two things: the black and white is perfect to save a picture with bad colors or a little blurry and people improve a simple scene. I took the same picture without the people and had hesitated before posting this one and you're right, it’s much more interesting!
Living between Paris and the countryside, love taking pictures, a lot of pictures...
Publish different ones from this project on my blog.
