Winter sooc #3

Happy new year everyone, wish us for 2011 many great, stunning, amazing, funny, gorgeous, brillant, awesome pictures!

Since a week we have grey, misty, cold weather. I feel like out of opportunities for pictures outside... as I'm going there 5 mns a day! Oh well I know better days are coming :-)

This is the same tree as http://365project.org/parisouailleurs/365/2010-11-06. In winter it has this ???.... I don't know the name in English but in French is "kitten"!
Gorgeous :)

Bonne année a vous aussi Helene. Seems like you deserve a break in the weather that Europe has suffered from this winter. We are experincing unusally mild weather at this time but am sure there is cold and snow around the corner.

I loved your fall shot of this tree, and it's just as interesting in the winter! Bonne Annee, mon amie! (other than missing an accent, I hope that's right!)

Such a pretty shot - I was intrigued that catkins had a similar name in different languages so looked it up and this is what I found.
The word catkin is derived from the Dutch katje, meaning "kitten", on account of the resemblance to a kitten's tail...
Happy New Year!
