Morning Light by pasttheirprime

Morning Light

Abbey Mill forms part of the Bradford-on-Avon skyline. When I was a child, the building was part of the Avon Rubber factory. Now, with the factory long gone, it has been converted to retirement apartments.

I must have walked past this impressive building thousands of times in my life and now, because of project365, can tell you it's definitely a morning building. It was built in 1857 by Richard Gane as a cloth factory, before its later use by the rubber company.
I am really enjoying exploring this image and the various elements captured. Wonderfully chosen pov, too..

What a fabulous structure, love all those windows. The light inside in the morning would be incredible. Wonderful shot.

Love the light and tones, you definitely captured it at the right time of day!

The building also looks like an art project drawing challenge - with that perspective to work out for the windows and no room for errors. Certainly looks good in that light.

My neck of the woods. My nan was born and raised in B-on-A. She may have even worked in this building because she was a seamstress/invisible mender in factory in the town somewhere. When she married my grandad she moved to Trowbridge. That's where my Dad was born and grew up, and I was born there too. Lovely old building - glad it's been given a new lease of life.

Stunning building and I have passed it on my way through Bradford-on-Avon. Should think the refurbishment for the elderly was a good idea.

Such a gorgeous building and those windows just sit perfectly in it. Great to see old buildings being renovated and this has been done sympathetically by the look of it. Love your pov and those shadows across the water.

@nickspicsnz - thanks for your comments for 'Morning light'. Good to see it has a link to someone on the other side of the world ! Sounds like there's a big chance your nan would have been in that building at sometime. Cheers Lee
