I took this photo from a bridge over a small pond. My focus was capturing tree branch reflections in the water when this large trout happened to swim through the shot! Also captured are the reflections of the stormy clouds above which give a mysterious, almost ghostly quality to the shot. To me, the reflections and the fish combine to make the perspective intriguing - are we looking up into the sky or down into the water? Just maybe fish can fly?
Lisa the layers to this are incredible - and I really think black and white was the right choice for this. It lets you focus on the four different elements without distracting with colour. What awesome timing that the fish swam under at the right moment - and that he swam into a perfectly composed spot! I'm pressing the fav button, this is fabulous ;)
wow - that is fantastic and a FAV.
Reminded me of Fantasia when the whales leave the water and fly through the sky and clouds (which I had to go watch again on youtube just now).
I LOVE this!! It is SO creative. I love your play with perspective and the surprising fish that emerges from the shadows. Thank you for explaining how you did it, as I would have assumed a photoshop process instead. So great!!
Love it! Wow. It would have been a great shot had the fish not come through, but the fish really adds this amazing extra element. It does look ghostly. It's a little creepy in a good way. :-)
Holy mackerel... er... trout. You even persuaded the fish to swim through at a diagonal so the composition would be perfect. This is going to get a LOT of attention. Fav!
Wow, amazing shot! It really does look like clouds in the sky and then you see the fish. It makes for something so fantastic/fantasy and I just love it! Fave!
You shouldn't have explained. I see a whale swimming in the clouds. What could be a more perfectly surreal image than that? I assumed some photoshop trickery, of course, but still...
Fav, because I'm going to pretend I didn't read what I read.
Fav for sure.
