One final image from my weekend class outing. When I took this shot, I thought it would be perfect in B&W and that I would post it on Wednesday for BWW. I had fun experimenting with the editing using a demo of Silver Efex Pro. I know I just scratched the surface of what can be done with it, but was happy with how this turned out.
@tomo87 Tom, I just wanted to thank you for suggesting I try Silver Efex Pro. I am experimenting with the demo now and really enjoying all the creative possibilities.
Excellent job with the editing, but the real gem here is the shot you took in the first place :) Beautiful composition, nice textures, and wonderful atmosphere... Fav!
Yep. Stunning. I keep reading about Silver Efex.... Guess I need to try it, too. It's so hard to decide where to spend one's photo money... I just don't know of I could prioritize such specific processing software over photographic hardware.
This brings back memories. I photographed this building a long time ago, probably more than 20 years, and printed it in my darkroom. http://www.hisandhersphoto.com/hhbw_012.htm. I have heard conflicting stories thnat it was a church and a school, so maybe it was both. The subtle sky is really perfect for this. Fav for the photo and for the nostalgia.
@rvwalker What a gorgeous image! I love it. So much texture and detail in it. Wonderful work, Ross. So maybe it was a school... interesting. My teacher said that we would be photographing an old church and I didn't question that. Thanks for the comment and the fav! I appreciate your feedback and nod!
@elaine55 Thank you, Elaine! It was a great outing and I am really pleased what I came home with. I so appreciate your supportive comments and favs. You are a gem!
I tried the trial of Silver Efex and loved it....not sure whether to buy or not though...
Your camera outing has produced some really wonderful shots, you must be so pleased. A fav!
