To my 365 friends, please forgive my absence over the last few weeks. My father passed away in early June and adjusting to a world without him has been difficult for me. I haven't felt the pull to photography and my camera has lingered ever since.
Thank you for stopping by my album and for leaving me kind notes. They were lights in a dark time for me. What caring and thoughtful people you are! I have missed you and your photography.
I took this photo on a weekend visit to the Palouse region of Washington and Idaho, just before my father passed away. I now finally downloaded the images from the trip. This was immediately one of my favorites. I love the rolling green fields of wheat and the way the setting sun lights the ridges.
So sorry to hear of your loss Lisa. This is a gorgeous photo of the Palouse.
I am going there in a few weeks but it will not be so green then but more browns. This photo is a fav for me.
This is so beautiful Lisa, the colours and light are amazing. I'm so sorry that you are going through such a difficult time, life can be incredibly hard sometimes, thinking of you.
A glorious photo and hello, Lisa. Missed you. Praying for you and your family as you mourn and heal. Love to you and soo so sorry for your loss. A fav!
So sorry for your loss. Words can never ease your pain. I hope that many happy memories can help you come to terms with your loss. Thoughts are with you. Take care.
This is such a beautiful peaceful scene
This is such a moving shot. The depth of color and composition. I'm in awe. True awe. I'm going to tag @rvwalker here. I know he'd love to see this. Continuing to send thoughts your way. Thanks for the update. Xoxox
This is a beautiful image and I can see why it speaks to you. Healing from loss is hard, but time and memories will help. Sending prayers and caring thoughts your way.
I saw this and went 'wow' -- then had a big smile to see it was yours. I've thought of you often and hope that over time, the pain of loss is less. I know it never goes away. Fav for the photo and thrilled to see you on 365.
Lisa, this is fabulous. I love the colours and folds and the light. Glad to see you back here but sorry that you're hurting so much. So sorry to hear of your dad's passing. I do feel for you.

I am so sorry to hear about your Dad, Lisa! My heart fell when I read this! My thoughts and prayers go out to you and your family! This is such a moving image! Big fav! Glad to see you again!
Sending many gentle hugs your way Lisa. Always hard to lose someone so close to you. I lost my father when I was 16 and still think about him daily. You may have lost the body but not the spirit. That will always remain with those who remember.
So sorry for your loss... I am sure there is a huge hole in your family's heart. :( This is a lovely, lush, beautifully lit shot. Hoping time may help, but words are so hollow in the meantime.
This is breathtakingly beautiful... absolute Fav. I am so sorry for your loss. I know it may be of little consolation for the pain you feel... but this image has truly touched me with its beauty. It is a direct result of you. You are a direct result of your father. Through you, he lives on. May you and your family find solace in the memories you have off him.
Lisa, so sorry for your loss. I have been wondering why you were absent for so long. Stay strong, my friend. This is a beautiful, peaceful looking image! Fav of course.

Lisa, I have been wondering how you were feeling and hope your pain is easing a little now, although the loss of your father will always be with you. I am so glad you felt it was the right time to come back and post an image and I hope your love of photography helps you through the tough times. This image is STUNNING! it has to be one of the best photos I have seen on here and I hope you print it and hang on your wall and that it gives you some solace and happy memories when you look at it. An instant fav and so good to see you back.

You photograph is so, so gorgeous, one of the best I have ever seen of the Palouse hills. The title is perfect as I just want to reach out to feel the softness of that velvet. I so hope you get to come back sometime and do your magic again. I have been away from 365 for about 10 days and am having thoughts about when to come back if at all.
Welcome back Lisa, so happy to see you here. This image is quite surreal, just so beautiful, wish I could fav more than once. You have so many stunning shots but this one should go on the wall :)
Oh, Lisa! I am so sorry. My thoughts are with you. This is honestly one of the most beautiful captures I've ever seen of the Palouse. I'm out of superlatives. Welcome back. I started 365 a few months after my dad passed away, it was very healing. fave, of course.

So sorry for your loss Lisa. This is such a wonderful vibrant abstract, and I hope you can draw from it to ease you back into photography when you feel ready.
@irishmamacita10 10K, I just wanted to thank you for your kind message. My mother and I were extremely touched by it. I will carry this thought with me into the future. I know it will be a source of comfort as well as inspiration to me. Thank you!
Having lost my parents this year I understand the strange mix of emotions and apathy weariness lacklustre that come with grief although it is an intensely and distinctly personal experience for everyone. Time of change ... Will influence your photography perhaps :0) my heartfelt condolences to you and your mother ... a big loss.
Am I so sorry for your loss but am glad to see you back. I pray that you will be comforted every day holding on to the memories of your Dad. Blessings and prayers for you and your family.
Just going through your shots again to try and get motivated and came across this, I am so sorry I missed it first time around but it stopped me in my tracks. This is an outstanding image that could easily grace the walls of any gallery and I hope at the very least it hangs on your wall, it really is a fabulous shot Lisa. How are you, I so hope you feel able to pick your camera up again and find some solace in photography as your work is beautiful and inspirational x

I realize that this is a busy time of year for you. I hope that work and your other pursuits are going well and that you can still enjoy the summer. It has been a tough one for me, but day by day, I find a bit more peace. I appreciate your concern and thoughtfulness. Truly. I am off to see your recent work. I know I will be dazzled.
