We spent the week of Christmas in the mountains and the cabin across the way had this lighted tree out front. I admired it for a couple of days and finally decided to get a shot. I found an angle that did not include the house because I loved the "out in the woods" feeling of this scene. It was a very dark and cold night (10 degrees F!). The only light here is from the glowing Christmas tree.
I actually just got up and closed the venetian blinds, turned out the lights in my office, and plugged in my big external monitor to get the full effect with this on black.
I was just remembering that another shot of yours had deeply affected me when I was doing this project before, and lo and behold I found it in just a couple of clicks. And I said a similar thing! How funny. http://365project.org/pflaume/365/2013-09-27
This is magical! It's like something very special is there and all the forest is looking that direction. Beautiful, and all the more so when viewed on black. Fav!
Can I have one of those big monitors too !! I'd love to see this huge - preferably printed and on a wall - I don't think we fully get the majesty of a photo like this on tiddly little laptop screens. massive fav Lisa
@salza Hi Sally, Thanks so much for checking in! It's nice to be remembered. All is well for me, just haven't felt ready for the commitment that is 365. Someday I'll be back. :) I hope you are doing well!.Good for you for keeping your project going!
@paulaw Hi Paula, Thank you so much for your message. It is nice to be remembered! I am doing well and having a nice summer. My family and I took a trip to Europe - Spain, Germany and Switzerland. It was an amazing time with lots of photo opportunities! I have my work cut out for me sorting and editing all the photos! I hope you are doing well and enjoying your summer, too!
