I do like this - the lines running diagonally across the frame, the colours and textures. I love rocks. Ages ago I did a short recreational course on geology which really taught me how much I don't know. But Iunderstand that granite is formed when there is a volcanic eruption under ground which doesn't break through to the surface so cools very slowly. Later erosion wears away the surface rock to reveal the granite. You probably knew all that.
@janek Have you done much painting of rocks? I thought this would be a good one to try. Thanks for the course on granite - I remember amazingly little from the school geology field trip in 1968. (I wasn't even taking the course, but went because my roommate and her cousin, ultimately my husband, were going). I did come away with a love of rocks though.
@reba No I haven't thought of rocks as a possible subject. Perhaps that's because we don't live in a rocky area. We have to travel to find rocks. But it's a thought.
