Retired economics professor (“dismal scientist”). Married 40+ years to the love of my life; we have two grown daughters, both married, two granddaughters and a grandson! I started this project at the suggestion of our older daughter and I managed to post a photo-a-day without “filler” for two years (736 posts). It’s Year Thirteen. I miss posting every day and I'm months behind. But for better or worse, I’m still here!

I had a Kodak Instamatic as a kid, but more serious photography began in 1978 with my first 35mm camera, a rangefinder “Canonet.” After that came a Pentax SuperProgram, the Nikon N80 that belonged to my late father-in-law, a Canon T2i, a sequence of point-and-shoots and a GoPro Hero3 sports camera. Dad was such an inspiration! He braved the digital waters before I did and he would have such fun with the current equipment and I’m certain he’d be here on 365, too!
