@jenirainbow@andycoleborn ok, gloomy but also lyrical and musical genius, plenty of humour in there too. Alright, gallows humour mostly but still a great and important band.
eh @fueast ?
At this stage in their careers, peerless - that guitar and bass work, blimey. @fueast@andycoleborn - maybe not unfollow, but perhaps a bit of a cold shoulder a period ...
@rich57@islawight@andycoleborn@jenirainbow Johnny marrs guitar work is some of the most uplifting ever. Contrasting that against morriseys gloomy lyrics is what makes them genius. I won't unfollow. I'm very relaxed about peoples taste in music. Ha ha ha ha. Not. ( im not that grown up yet) @shutterbugger
@andycoleborn Btw Andy was it you who took my copy of their first single and melted it into a plant pot? Somebody did. One of the meatloaf fans at school I think.
@fueast Alison, if The Smiths' music uplifts you, I am happy for you. Really, I am! Me, I just have to hear it in the distance and I start feeling miserable. I don't think I've ever got as far as listening to the lyrics. But carry on. If you enjoy it, and I can't hear it, fine by me!! Meatloaf? Now you're talking!! :-D @andycoleborn@rich57
@michaelelliott yeah they didn't make it in the States. Morrissey was the singer, don't know if you've come across him in the US? He lives there now...
Cheers for visiting my albums, I've been really busy recently and haven't been keeping up with viewing/commenting as I'd like to. Hoping that will be rectified in the next couple of weeks!
