Tonight (2nd April), we went to see a two-man production of "Frankenstein" at a converted local theatre which used to be formerly a church. It's only a tiny theatre and seats a maximum of just 50 people, so is quite intimate. You get really close up to the actors, so much so that it feels like they're looking directly at you. This takes a little getting used to. I could literally see the strands of the doctor's hair (we were in the 3rd row)
The guy who runs the place lets small traveling companies put on 'one night only' shows, tonight just happened to be the Mary Shelley classic and was very good, with a minimal set and strong performances by both the Dr and the monster. During the play, I considered why Frankenstein never gave the monster a name, perhaps because the true monster is himself, Victor.
It was getting dim as we arrived so it wasn't all that easy to take shots. Inside, I was sorely tempted to try to secretly take some photos of the actors in mid performance (without flash), but in the end put my camera under the seat where it stayed. I didn't have the nerve. :)
I would love to see an intimate little play such as that. I think you have captured a lot of the elements of the night here in your collage, especially the bottom right.
'Anne' is my mum. I think last time I visited her I logged into my 365 account on her laptop and forgot to log out! (just in case anyone is wondering why I commented to myself above)
