"A dog looks up to a man,
a cat looks down on a man,
but a patient horse looks a man in the eye
and sees him as an equal." -- Author Unknown.
I was going to post another of the strange, wood creatures, but this quite handsome horse has a little story to it. We were in the adjacent field looking at this horse and couple of others that were together, taking a few shots of them and then noticed that this particular one kept his eye fixed upon us the whole time, motionless (as in the shot) Not just for a few minutes, but for about fifteen. He was still watching us directly as we were moving off and went behind some obscuring trees. We looked back, saying, "I bet he shifts just slightly so he can still see us!" and sure enough, he had moved so he could get a better view through a small gap within the tree branches. The other horses I might add, had no interest in us whatsoever, apart from a brief, casual glance. :)
Or perhaps on second thoughts, I do know his name, a horse called 'Patience'
What a fantastic story and capture. Doesn't it give you a deeper appreciation of the natural world we share? We are not above the chain, we are right there in it.
