Elephant trunk by sabresun

Elephant trunk

This old fella is what set me off looking for 'tree creatures.' It may be missing its ears, but the rest is some sort of frowning, old elephant, maybe because his tusk is worn short. I believe short tusk syndrome is a problem that is just not taken seriously by other wood creatures. :)

Nb - I'm so far behind with posting this week, what with the camera falling etc. One thing, never leave the camera strap hanging over the side of the table as it makes a good catapult to launch said camera to the floor. What do you mean you wouldn't do that? Oh, I see, it's only me then.

Yep...you've done it again. Exactly like an elephant. Well done.

Great find! I've heard short tusk syndrome can cause depression. Thus, the frown. I did the camera drop trick yesterday. If you put your camera in the bag, you must zip it before turning it upside down. It hurt me more than the camera. :0)

I love your wild animals series! So creative! As for the camera strap dilemma, I finding hanging off of tables at home and think, right, THAT surely won't tempt the cats... duh!

Sorry about your camera experience.... not a great idea! Love the tree.

Took me a little bit to fully appreciate the elephant, but finally got it! Balint saw it right away. Sorry to hear about your camera, but your story cracked me up!

I'm liking your tree creatures, also. Trees are awesome, in my humble opinion.

As soon as I saw your picture I could see the elephant ! Are all these photos from the same wood ?

An amazing find. That actually sounds like fun

@happypat Yes, the same area. It's not a wood though, just a series of fields with large trees around the hedgerows.

@digitalrn Yeah, you should definitely try it Rick. It adds another element to look out for when you go to new and sometimes even familiar areas.
