'Men are like the earth and we are the moon; we turn always one side to them, and they think there is no other, because they don't see it, but there is.' --- Olive Schreiner
I went out tonight and took some shots of the night sky as it was quite dramatic looking with a huge expanse of illuminated clouds surrounding the moon. Sadly, none of my photos showed up even half of that which my eye thought it saw while standing there camera clicking, gazing upwards. This was the only shot I liked, which I've given a gouche treatment to emphasize the sky's beauty. I quite like the colours of the clouds with the cooler moon gracing the center of the scene, it seems to be saying as in the quote, 'There's more to me than you know."
I wonder if this matches more closely to what you saw in your mind's eye when gazing upward, camera in hand. It's very cool, and I love the quote by Olive.
That's gorgeous. I tried a moon shot this week too but it came up as a tiny white speck and nowhere near as impressive as yours. I've just finished reading the book Love Letters from a Stray Moon by Jay Griffiths and funnily enough there are moon references everywhere I look!! I find that often happens with books. :)
