By Edward Burne-Jones, who was one of the Pre-Raphaelites. This is from a small book that shows off some of his hidden humour & was probably sketched around 1880.
I think there's a great sense of fun in them, pure joy! They make me smile.
@pwallis I'm not sure if I'm back, Paula. I have huge chunks of the previous months missing. If this were a ship, it'd be missing the engine, rudder, compass, decking, sails. In fact, all you'd find would be an orange inflatable rubber life ring with a pair of arms clinging to it if you looked carefully enough. Maybe I can salvage something as I watch the last tip of the mast disappear. :)
Wondered where you were !!! Nice to see you back on again !! These could be modern drawings, for some reason I wouldn't have imagined folks drawing elephants in the 1800's but I suppose India & all that !!
Matt, it's good to see you on again, and I do hope you find the time to stick around. This appears to be a great book filled with some refreshing humor.
