It's not a great shot, but it's all I managed to get. I went out shopping and forgot to put in the memory card and had to use the internal memory which lead to much pointless mental backtracking of where I imagined it was sitting idly at home. I should keep a back up card in the car for just such occasions. I obviously aren't that organised as this isn't the first time its happened. However, despite my shortcomings what this scene does manage to do is to combine some British favourites. These are fish n chips, random reindeer at Christmas without sleighs, a St George flag, no apostrophes on signs and the #1 favourite, the eternal expertise that is and will be forever, arm folding in queues (pursed lips or hand resting against mouth are advisable, yet optional)
LOL...I was looking all over for the reindeer! Duh, I had the page scrolled down. Sigh.
Love fish and chips and I keep telling myself that I need to try mushy peas. I'll bet it's different than me just mashing them with my fork.
Great shot Matt. I'll bet you'll check for that card before you leave next time!
A true British shot & what could you have better !!!! I like the way you have cropped it getting in the most important bits such as the queue !! You could look at this for ages !!
@shutterbugger Mushy peas are different to just mashing them with your fork, yes. They're sort of hard to describe, salty and in a mushy consistency, yet not mashed. I haven't had them for years, not since I was at school. It's more of a kid's food in a way.
I love fish and chips! I'm sure yours are much better than ours.I love this scene! Mushy peas sound interesting. I have walked to the other side of my property more than once and found out my card has decided to stay home in the computer! :0)
My favourite food! This has made my stomach cry out.
Thank goodness for the internal memory in cameras, otherwise we'd have all missed out on this one!
i loved your description of British Favourites, but now i am so intrigued by these mushy peas that i keep hearing about from various british sources. i imagined they were just peas that have been mushed... so now i'm curious.
I really like this snapshot of an ordinary moment made interesting. It's hard not to wonder what story each person has, what they're thinking and where they're off to.
