“I have come to accept the feeling of not knowing where I am going. And I have trained myself to love it. Because it is only when we are suspended in mid-air with no landing in sight, that we force our wings to unravel and alas begin our flight. And as we fly, we still may not know where we are going to. But the miracle is in the unfolding of the wings. You may not know where you're going, but you know that so long as you spread your wings, the winds will carry you.”

A rather wonderful piece Matt & a great illustration for it, specially as the birds are so cleverly lit.
None of us know where we are going & a good thing too sometimes!!!
I love it Matt, a wonderful illustration of the words you have chosen. My life was like this most of the time, never truly knowing exactly where I was heading until I made a choice and then followed the hints of direction that were before me. I am not saying every choice was the perfect one, but it was up to me to do something with the choices I made.
@digitalrn I do think you have to follow your instincts, and those influence our choices I feel. The birds do, and get to survive not only another winter, but many distant summers too. I'm glad you've found your place, Rick. That is really good to know. :)
Kind of a frightening image to me somehow. Those clouds look a little doomsday in the lower left corner. But the quote is oh, so true, and goes with this shot quite well.
@westcoastwallis I see what you mean. They are moving out of the doomsday clouds, so that's a good thing in itself. It's not a photo I'm entirely happy with, too grainy and such. Elements of it I like.
@cjwhite I know what you mean. These last couple of years have been very tough on me too. Sometimes, I don't see any light at the end of the tunnel, often it's only tunnel. Yet I think despite that feeling, one day the light will be around. It will just be there. Everything alters to a different transition, a new form, in time.
It is hard and terrifyingto let go of the control. But once you do it is a rather wonderful feeling. Still terrifying occasionally < :o but rather wonderful :-)

This is rather pretty, it makes me think of the dreamy illustrations of Khalil Gibran's.
