Leaf people by sabresun

Leaf people

I've tried to add a mixture of earth and skyward tones to this.
It'll make sense if you read the short poem.

“Memories are like firm foundations you build around your soul.
It is the place that holds you when things get a little weathered.”

Leaf people

It’s like a leaf in a sock,
a crunch when you put it on,
but not as bad as spider.

Sock married Leaf
and they made lighthearted children.

Leaf said to Sock,
“How lovely a summers walk.
Two soles that meet together
in wind and rainy weather.

One in air and one on ground,
somewhat lost
and then one day found.”

Actually, they are chat lines from years back between myself and Bekki.
Bekki put them together like a poem.
♥ Beautiful ♥

Bekki is very talented at words!!! This has much feeling & the wacky chat you have together is illustrated perfectly by the photo of a sock with a leaf!!!

My favorite part of that chat that was not in the poem was when M said:

Bekki: You’re fun
hardly a pain in the ass at all…(snicker)
Matt: yeah well, you never know what people are like
Bekki: me…specifically?
or people in general like?
Matt: leaf people
Bekki: I like this English gent..I thinks

Bekki: I am easier going than I appear
Matt: leaves are easy going
Bekki: Yes, we like to float

This photo must have taken a bit f work. I know M..I am thinking there are at least 30 photos if not more of this sock. :) Such dedication to things that matter to him.

I keep thinking of the wonderful colourways indie yarn dyers come up with when I see this.
They look like two people snuggled up together. Sweet.

@dulciknit Actually, yes. It is a bit like one of those combination dyes that you can only see when people experiment or in Asian markets. The leaf is meant to be a bit squished as if it's come from the sock.

@bexclendon True, it's a case of narrowing it down until I feel I have the shot that I think is likely to work. That to me is not work though, that's part of the process that I enjoy.

@dulciknit That's very close.

@sabresun I know. That is how I know you are an artist. You have the eye and the passion for your work. Now I only need to convince you to do a showing of your photography.

@bexclendon I don't think it's good enough for that. I honestly don't. I just do my own thing, and hope someone, anyone else likes it too.

@westcoastwallis It was our very very first conversation ever. It was entrancing that conversation. Google allows us to save all chats and I visited that conversation so many times it has become a bit of a place to rest when I am low. I knew from that very first conversation that M was the one for me. I was entranced by his wit and his patience. He is soo very patient with me. Always a supporting heart coupled with a very very gentle soul. He is something very special.
