Fierce, yet totally harmless, unless a slow, gradual shuffling from among the undergrowth scares the bejesus out of you! It has real trouble coiling around anything as they don't tend to coil easily, that is, not without fatal splitting or breaking apart into splinters. Let's just say they don't coil. They are rarely seen, and even more rarely seen eating anything, but are said to exist mainly on pine cones because of aforementioned flexibility issue (as is known, pine cones don't run very far, and are easily caught)
