Mary Poppins was very very good. The stage design was picture perfect, and it was quite amazing how they shifted scenes so effortlessly - from park, to house, to bank, to rooftops and so on. There was a full scale house on the stage which not only revolved, but also transformed into the rooftops. Really, you couldn't fault the attention the detail. MP flew in and also over the audience. It was a spine tingling moment. The first half of the show I liked, but real the tor de force of the show is the number 'Step in time' in which the tap dancing was phenomenal and everyone couldn't help but clap along to the song. Never seen anything like it! At one point Bert walks vertically up the side of the stage and then proceeds to tap dance upon the ceiling! It was amazing - Supercalifragilisticexpialidoious!.
It's no exaggeration to say that everyone involved was practically perfectly cast. Everyone worked so hard to bring the musical to life, and were obviously loving every minute of the audience reactions. The feel good factor after leaving the show stays with you, and what I also loved about it was when the curtain was coming down you could see the cast joyfully dancing around still after the show had ended. Highly recommended if you get an opportunity to see it. :)
