The world famous Cherry Blossoms along the Washington, DC Tidal Basin are still about a week away from peak bloom but they are starting to show their beauty.
When they peak, I will make my annual pilgrimage to awaken in the middle of the night and set up about an hour before sunrise to get the shot... this year I'm going to target the Jefferson Memorial.
Anticipation! though this has a wonderful balance between the coming warmth of spring in the golden tones and the loss of winter's icy grip in the blue/cool tones.
One of my co-workers went there last Thursday and spent a couple of days. I figured she hadn't seen many cherry blossoms as you hadn't added any to your project. I was right - one tree in bloom. Can't wait until you bring them to us.
