Right behind the big Target Fresh Van, is a group of about 100 protesters camping out in tents protesting corporate greed and are called Occupy Seattle. They are expanding on the NYC Occupy Wall Street. http://occupyseattle.org/
Opposing views sharing the park. Target vs Occupy Seattle... the protestors are really not doing a very good job of rallying their cause...
This was posted in the paper tonight...
The "Occupy Seattle" protest group was told by Seattle police on Tuesday that it must move its tents from Westlake Park by the end of the day or be arrested.
"The issue is the tents," Seattle Police Chief John Diaz told KING-TV. "This is a city that appreciates that people want to protest. The issue is that other people need to have the right to use the park also."
But by midnight, no police were to be seen and close to 100 protesters were still occupying the park.
We shall see what happens...
I like the way the yellow bags focus on the "twins"! (I heard some of the NYC protesters try to articulate why they're protesting, and most couldn't string two sentences together...)
Excellent street capture Constance. Yeah we have the Wall St thing going on here and some radical groups trying to take advantage of the situation and make it worse.
Its a two way street, what are the protesters willing to give up in exchange? For instants, remove the dams along the Columbia River in exchange for giving up the power need to allow connectivity for their iPhones and iPads? My soap box...
cool twin-shot.
