Today we drove 1 ½ hours north of Toronto to attend the funeral of a fellow firefighter who lost his life to cancer. He was only 63 but had suffered from a severe back injury incurred on the job 35+ years ago. He worked in the Communications division and was always the calm cool voice that never got rattled no matter how hectic the shift might be. The day was foggy with misty rain/snow - somehow mirroring how we all felt. Driving home I was taking pictures out the car window just to see what I could capture - this one of the bare trees also felt sad. Peace to you Keith and love to your family - may they know that you are at rest.
