Heiland Coo (Highland Cow) Calf by selkie

Heiland Coo (Highland Cow) Calf

This little darling was born in February at the High Park Zoo on a very cold (-20c) day - she was named Khione for the Greek Goddess of Snow. She is unique in that her father was a Banded Galloway Cow and her mother a Highland Cow, so she has a white band around her middle and her coat is chocolate brown. She is absolutely adorable! The greyness is from the wire fence - I;ll have to go back and try again to get a better photo.
A lovely portrait of this adorable calf. Nice job and those darn fences right. FAV
