I made it! 365 pictures in 365 days. My goal was to use the project to force myself to improve my photographic skills, and I feel that I achieved that goal - I am consistently taking better pictures now than when I started the project, and I'm happy about that.
I don't plan on continuing the project next year. I feel that I need the license to take days off when I'm very busy or otherwise feeling uncreative. I'll continue to take pictures and post them on Flickr most days ( http://www.flickr.com/photos/slgc/ ), but when I'm just not feeling it I'll take a break. This way I'll stress out less about my photography and be able to enjoy it more; having to take a picture every day was feeling like a chore at times by the end of the project. But even when it felt like a chore, I appreciated the progress that I made. I am very proud of how far I have come!
So I'm putting a wrap on the project, with wrapping paper as my final subject. I decided to shoot it with my macro lens; perhaps the 35mm lens would have been a better choice, but the macro is my favorite and I wanted to finish the project with it. I'm beginning to use the lens more effectively, which pleases me, and I wanted to get up close to my subject because I enjoy doing that.
So the project is wrapped up, with a bow on top. I feel a real sense of achievement in having completed this, and have picked up a lot of knowledge that I will put to good use moving forward.
