I decided to have a little fun and take one of my Valentine's Day roses outside to see how it would look in the snow.
First I went into the backyard. I took some pictures, uploaded them, and wasn't really thrilled with the results. Not all that long ago I would have settled for one of the pictures and called it a day - they weren't horrendous shots. But my guru of all things photography would never settle for a substandard shot, which made me want to try to get it right.
For the second batch of photos I went into the front yard. The lighting was much better, I used a different lens, and I was much happier with the results. This is one good shot, but there were three or four others that I could easily have chosen instead.
