For many years I have been baking green Toll House Cookies for St. Patrick's Day. I can't remember how long I have been doing it, but I have a clear memory of baking them with my daughter when she was about three or four, so that means I've been doing it at least 17-18 years, if not longer. Basically, I just take Nestle's tried and true Toll House Cookies recipe ( http://www.verybestbaking.com/recipes/18476/Original-NESTL%C3%89-TOLL-HOUSE-Chocolate-Chip-Cookies/detail.aspx ) and add green food coloring along with the eggs. They taste the same as regular Toll House Cookies, although psychologically I have an aversion to the color so I don't crave these cookies as much as I normally would (and since I'm on Weight Watchers, this is a good thing <g>).
I took a whole bunch of pictures of the cookies, using different lenses. I had a hard time settling on one picture as my photo of the day for this project, but I finally chose this one. I like how the light falls on the cookies, and I like the clarity of the swirled chocolate chip on the top. I know I bought my macro lens for nature pictures, but I'm loving how it's working out for other close up shots as well.
