The ball on the left has the logo from Shea Stadium's final season of existence; the ballpark was torn down following the 2008 season. The ball was tossed to my husband prior to a Mets game at Citi Field on Labor Day Weekend of 2009; apparently the Mets were using old Shea balls during batting practice, and outfielder Angel Pagan tossed the ball to my husband before the game began. The ball is sitting in a replica of Shea Stadium.
The ball on the right has the Citi Field 2009 inaugural season logo on it. My husband caught this foul ball in the late innings of a Mets/Astros game at Citi Field at the end of the 2009 season. The ball is sitting in a replica of Citi Field.
I was not sure what I should shoot for the project today. Then I saw the Citi Field ball, that my husband had given me, sitting on my desk. In honor of tomorrow's home opener at Citi Field, I decided to shoot the two balls and their respective ballparks.
