I had decided that I wanted a new camera body for my upcoming 50th birthday. After visiting B&H and checking out the different Nikon camera bodies, I decided that I wanted a Nikon D7000.
The problem with the D7000 is that it is usually available with a lens, but the body only option is usually out of stock. I don't need the lens that comes with the kit. So I decided to stalk B&H and order the camera body when it became available.
I'm a good stalker, and the camera came in last week. I spoke to my husband, and we basically agreed that I could flip my birthday with my anniversary this year, inasmuch as the camera will be my anniversary present and I'll get something smaller in October for my big birthday. It's a deal that works for me.
So my new camera arrived today. It'll take between now and my anniversary to learn how to properly use the D7000 with all of its options
So now I can use the D60 when I want to take pictures with different lenses without worrying about swapping out the lenses, and I know that I have it available as a back up camera if the need ever arises. But the D7000 will be my go-to camera, and I look forward to learning how to use it to its maximum potential.
